Critical Time Constraints and Restricted Access Operations

Implementing an engineered MSE Wall retaining system for the road restoration near the Royal Palace at Doi Tung required meeting the highest standards under extreme pressure due to Royal schedules.

  • Severe Time Limits: The impending use of the road by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn necessitated an exceptionally accelerated construction timeline.

  • Prohibitive Work Area: Excavation and construction operations were severely constrained by the steep, hillside mountain terrain.

  • Complex Structural Requirements: The project mandated cutting the slope, installing temporary soil nails, and constructing a specialized MSE wall (welded wire mesh triangular panels) simultaneously within the tight area.

  • High-Stakes Quality Control: The urgency could not compromise the project's requirement for the highest standards of structural engineering and long-term safety.

SOLUTION

Accelerated Construction Regimen with Specialized Geotechnical Deployment

To conquer the challenging terrain and rigorous deadlines, the project relied on advanced planning and specialized facing technologies deployed by an expert team.

  • Specialized Retaining Structures: Utilized a unique MSE wall system featuring folded, welded wire mesh triangular panels, enabling rapid assembly compared to traditional facing.

  • Simultaneous Stabilization: Executed concurrent slope cutting and temporary soil nailing to stabilize the site, allowing for immediate MSE wall construction.

  • Integrated Bioengineering: Incorporated topsoil and Ruzi grass directly into the wire mesh facing, creating an immediate, visually appealing, and erosion-resistant vegetative cover.

  • High-Efficiency Execution: Deployed a team of seasoned professionals operating under a highly optimized, accelerated work plan to maximize daily progress within the confined mountain space.

THE OUTCOME

Expedited Restoration with Optimal Engineering Integrity

Despite the severe time constraints and challenging mountainous terrain, the expert team successfully completed the MSE Wall construction precisely on schedule.
